Hello everybody. New to the forum. Have a little problem.
My back brakes are squeeking like crazy when driving 5-30 mph. Took it to the mechanic, they said the brakes are fine. Drum brakes last for 100,000 miles.
It's really annoying.

Got any ideas?

Brake pad might be too tight and they heat up and make an awful noise.

When you pull the hand brake can you make it to (2) two clicks ?? or more ?? ... if you're having a hard time reaching the 2nd click, yourr pads are too tight.

A Toyota tech told me so ..

My opinion ... semi-metalic pads do that when it/they get hot.

But I thought the back brakes don't have any pads. It's a Drum Brakes.
