I have a 2009 RAV4 Limited with a rear camera that has stopped working. When the vehicle is placed in reverse, the screen turns blue briefly, before going out completely. Has the camera failed or is there something I can try to repair it? Thanks.

The first thing I would check is to see if the camera is getting power. Try this: while the camera is trying to display, open up the back door and move it back and forth slowly. If the picture pops up even momentarily, that would indicate a broken wire at the hinge side of the door.

Exact thing happened to ours at 18 months old.
Manual lists a few tests to check other components but the tech immediately figured it was the camera unit itself, he had seen a few others with the same blue screen symptom.

No luck, but thanks for the suggestions. I guess that I'll get a tech to take a look before I replace the camera unit.
