My wife’s 2021 XLE had static yellow gridlines on the backup camera display. Since replacing her battery, however, the gridlines have disappeared, just leaving crossed blue lines in the display. She also had the diamond exclamation icon, which disappeared after I completed the steering calibration in the service menu. However, the yellow lines have yet to return despite repeating several times and driving for several days.

Any other suggestions to try? My searches keep bringing me back to videos of this same calibration process.

I’ve tried a variation of that where the wheel is held for 5 seconds at each of those positions, but it hasn’t worked

When you did it you had the car running. and put it into reverse? Correct


Maybe try removing the battery cables for a few minutes and then try it again to see if it works

Remove battery cables only when the car is off. Do not remove them while the engine is running.

My wife said the lines came back on their own. Will have to confirm this

I have a 2024 RAV4 Hyrbrid. I had no lines display on the backup camera and think it was caused by the trunk hatch not being tightly shut. Then, just the yellow lines didn't display. Pressing the soft-button on the lower right of the screen solved the problem. I must have pressed all possible buttons before I found the immediate problem was solved by better-closing the trunk hatch
