Hi,
Anyone else having issues with their battery dying frequently? I bought my 2020 hybrid in March and just had my battery die for the second time.
We just got a 2019 hybrid limited and trying to use the battery Ill be lucky if I can get a 10th of a mile before its says its not charged enough. Is this common or did I get a bad battery ?

Yes h2opdler it is hard to drive any significant distance on EV only in a mild hybrid. The “big“ traction battery provides low end torque at the lower speeds and powers the electric motors to perform their magic in the Hybrid Synergy Drive and keep the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) in the best RPM range for efficiency. Use EV driving to glide after reaching cruising speed on level or downhill stretches to play the MPG game.

This tread is about the small 12v battery. When it goes dead, it can not start the vehicle computers and power the relay to access the big traction battery power.

My 2020 Hybrid Limited just died yesterday. Called TRA (road assistance) was going to have it brought to dealership but after a boost the car seems fine. Only problem noticed so far since June 2020 ownership but frustrating and disappointing to find other people are experiencing the same issue. The car sat for 1 full day of no driving and the temperatures did dip to -15 C when I discovered the problem. Not too pleased by this and will invest in a battery booster. I am considering even this one episode frequent!! Hopefully your problem is resolved.

There are both cold and 12v battery issues. Either prevents starting. Both have fixes. T-SB-0045-20 (relay replacement) or whatever the Canadian equivalent is and T-SB-0095-20 (DCM firmware update) or whatever the Canadian equivalent is. See your dealer and see if those don't address your issue.

Sorry, it's the hybrid battery I'm having trouble with.
So, did it get charged at all while you were driving it? If problem persist, you should bring it into dealer for full checkup, could be a defective battery and they can swap it under warranty. Wish you good luck!! Please report back on your finding.
Since h2opdler hasn't been back since that post six months ago we may never know the resolution.
