My wifes 04 had recently, (3-5) months ago, had the alternator and battery replaced. The problem is every now and then her battery light will come on. I've checked all connections related to both the battery and alternator and all are tight. Any ideas?
Did the shop which presumably replaced the alternator guarantee it? If so and the guarantee is still in effect, suggest that the RAV be returned to that shop since the light ordinarily should not come on while the engine is running.
The shop will need to see the light on while they are testing it.
What brand alternator was installed? There are different quality rebuilt alternators. Some rebuilders replace more parts than others, so something that might have tested good on the bench could have been reused and failed later.
I recommend DENSO for anything they make. If it has the DENSO name on it, it's good stuff.
