So lets say a rav4 hybrid is towed by a standard tow truck instead of a flatbed? What would the repercussions be on the vehicle? I am an electronic technician and know that turning a dc motor creates a back emf fed back into the system, perhaps even back into the batteries. I'm wondering if anyone knows if there are safeguards against damage in this scenario or what may occur? It may be nothing since the rav4 doesn't provide power to the rear motors all the time anyway so there must be some sort of coupling when required, or safeguard against the motors being turned by an external source. Just not sure.

Thanks.

Nothing good could come of it. The manual CLEARLY states that it must never be towed on the ground. Flatbed only.

Ok thanks. As expected since towing any and vehicle is bad. But good to know.
