I've been a technician for 15+ yrs and have never encountered an oil filter blowing out due to the casing not being thick enough ... Not even the 1.99 quick lube garbage filters .

In all honesty nobody should obsess and or care about the case thickness . They all meet a certain standard and will work just fine for the 3 to 5 thousand miles of usage. Be more concerned about filter material and oci intervals . That's what makes the real difference

Not really, there are some oil filters that have on BY PASS Valve when the filter gets clogged all that contaminates go into your engine or use cheap filters in the cans or the filter themselves like many Toyota filters are a cartage and buy a cheap filter it could ruin your engine. Do your research is all I can say. What if you're a trail and a rock comes up and hits that filter just right and pokes a hole in that the thin cased oil filter? Just like you can run over a small animal if it is hit just right a bone can puncture your tire cause a flat. Or about about that small nail you didn't see can do the same thing to your tire.
First off the 2019+ RAV4 has a shield protecting the oil filter , let alone it's recessed enough puncture damage is a non issue ,
Secondly one would have to have a seriously dirty /sludged up engine for a filter to go into bypass .
Let's be realistic here . 99% of us on the forum don't have sludged up engines and if they do then they have much bigger issues to worry about instead of a certain oil filter brand that has a thicker case by .0002 " .

I agree. I have done a lot of research and so have others on the Bob Is the Oil Guy site and no one has ever found the official DENSO YZZ-N1, F1,and F2 filtation specs. Toyota and DENSO don't ever say what it is because the truth is that those OEM oil filters are CR*P and don't really filter worth SH*T ! Lots of YouTube tests have proved this.
Feel free to provide links to these YouTube videos.

I have watched my share of YouTube videos on oil filters and have come to the conclusion that synthetic media is best for the synthetic oil used in our cars. In addition you want a silicone anti drain back valve and metal end caps. Any filter that has all of these will be good for your car. The Wix-XP, Purolator Boss, Mobile 1 Extended Performance, K&N Select, and similar filters are all good.
The reason they say synthetic media is best for synthetic oils is because of the extended oci's associated with synthetic oil .
