I had to replace my icp and to my surprise I see the miles are kept in there. I now have twice as many miles on my car. I'm guessing the real miles are stored in the BCM and if so there must be a way to calibrate this icp. I know there are products to do a roll back but I'd rather not do that.

Is there a way to reset the miles back to the right value?

Yes, your mileage is stored in the instrument cluster panel. Seems like I have seen procedures on Youtube or somewhere else on the internet showing how to transfer the chip over to the new panel. The dealers can do it, but they make it difficult so dodgy used car dealers can't cheat their customers.
