Hello!

My family recently purchased a new 2019 Rav 4 XLE Hybrid. I use this SUV to commute many times throughout the week. I have noticed that when I apply the brakes there is a squeal. I googled this, and found that Brakes can squeal in wet or snowy conditions. I live in city that gets extreme snow conditions, and we are currently in middle of winter. This may be the cause of the brake squeal. However, I hear this brake squeal everytime I apply the brakes. The car is parked outside on the driveway.

Please let me know if I should get this checked out? The car has 700kms.

Several different noises.

• The whine of the regen motors charging the battery and slowing down the car.
• The squeal of brake pads against the rotor possibly because the rotor has rust on it from the conditions and being used so seldom in hybrid braking.
• And last and still rarer, a stone lodged between the pad and the rotor.

So have someone outside the car tell you if it is limited to one corner of the vehicle. You yourself figure out is it only when the brakes are first lightly pressed or when they are stomped on hard.

have the same problem, it's also a Canada built. I plan to report it to the dealer by the end of this month when I hit 5k miles.

Exact same high pitch squeal from mine started around 10k miles. I live in texas. It's constantly every time I apply the brakes with little pressure I:E comming to a light or at a drive though window. It's extremely annoying.

I have had my 2020 LE Hyrbid for 2 weeks now and same brake squeal. Im gona give it 1 more week, if it doesn't go away, taking it to the dealer.

I have a 2019 Rav4 Limited Hybrid (Canadian built) and at the 10k service, I brought it in and complained about the squeaky brakes. Toyota fixed it for free (replaced one defective brake pad) saying that there was a manufacturing problem.

Complained the same dilemma at my local Seattle Toyota dealership (Magic Toyota) they gave me the same explanation of being cold out so their solution was to take out the brake pad and blow dust off and of course that didn't solve the dilemma.
