My 2021 RAV4 Prime XSE with the Premium Package does NOT show charge status on the Toyota app. I need to be able to see when my vehicle is fully charged m without having to return to the charger to check.
Today I phoned Toyota Customer Service and, after my issue was not resolved by two departments, eventually my call was transferred to the Telemetrics department. That representative put me on hold while she tried to get help solving the problem. Finally, she told me that I needed to purchase the $8/month Connected Services subscription for "EV Remote Connect." When I said that's not right — that other owners, on this forum, of the RAV4 Prime XSE with the Premium Package can see the level of charge for free on the Toyota app, the agent put me on hold again, before telling me that the blue horizontal line to the right of the little gas tank tank icon in the upper left hand corner of the app's Home Page indicates the level of charge. I had a full charge at the time (and a full tank of gas). The representative told me the bar would get shorter if I drove and used up the charge.
With that objective, this evening I drove until the dash display showed a decrease from what had been 41 miles remaining (after a full charge) down to to 27 miles remaining, after my drive. However, the blue line beside the gas tank icon in the Toyota App had not gotten any shorter..
The app DOES show my correct vehicle miles and tire pressures, and earlier the agent had told me that she could see my vehicle's status on her telemetrics, so it sure does not look like there is a communication problem. What gives? What needs to be done to enable me to see the level of charge — without having to pay extra for tha optional "EV Remote Connect" monthly subscription?

The rep is correct that you need a subscription to view the charge status. The XSE trim is what is required for the privilege of paying Toyota for EV Remote Connect. SE trims don’t even have the option. You get a one year trial starting the day it‘s first purchased.

The rep is incorrect that the blue line represents your state of charge; that is your fuel tank status.

You have to pay. No other way around it.

Thank you. Unfortunately, that information is not worth $8/month to me.As for the other "benefits" of having "EV Remote Connect," I have been able to get along just fine for decades of driving without having an app tell me that I left a door or a window open.

Bear in mind that a package saying it grants you “Access to EV remote connect” doesn’t mean it gives it to you for free. All that says is that you will have ACCESS to that feature. In that same sense, you have access to a restaurant. But you still gotta pay to eat there.
