Prime owner here (and I’ll state my bias upfront). EV mode in the prime is absolutely addictive. The feel (and sounds) in that mode cannot be described. And my electricity cost is about equivalent to a gasoline cost of $1.60/ gallon. SE’s with rebate net to about the same cost as some of the HV models. They can be found but it takes persistence and travel. For me it was worth it. Twice.
If I got rid of the Prime for some reason, after that experience with this power train I’d have zero interest in another RAV4 that wasn’t PHEV. I think 99 of 100 folks who have one would feel the same way.
