In your experience, does the flywheel always need to be done when you replace the clutch? I understand they can grind it, but at what point do you need to replace? Going in for my new clutch this week.

thanks!

Well depending on how bad the clutch is slipping, or how long you've been driving on a slipping clutch depends on wether or not the flywheel needs to be resurfaced.... Most people will recommend to have it resurfaced regardless... it has to be sent to the machine shop to be resurfaced and hopefully you can get it done within the same day... but being a clutch job takes a whole day on an all wheel drive, you may not get back the car until the next day.... As for completely replacing the flywheel, it's not a common thing...
