Been trying to setup Remote Connected services between my iPhone (Toyota app) and the car. Keeps reporting activation error.
Spoke with toyota who say they are having problem at the moment (at least several days it seems)

gps on car is not reporting to toyota - sos calls cant access my location either.

very poor for a brand new car!

Remote Connect has been a major problem for '20 owners, many discussions on it.

thanks - seems to me if sos doesn't know where I am I wonder if this is grounds for them to buy back my car!

I was shopping around for insurance and the major brand company thought the year 2020 meant 1920!
y2k all over again - I wonder if this is causing the connection problems??
I bought my RAV4 XSE last Saturday and has the exact same issue. SOS doesn't connect, can't activate remote service, getting "network connection unavailble". So went to the dealership service department, they disconnected the battery and reinitialize the DCM (or something like that) on the vehicle. Then everything is fine now. Hope this helps.

Unfortuntately I just had my car at the dealership's service department this morning, and still no Remote Connect Services. The service manager told me that this was a "Toyota problem" and there was nothing they could do (which I found ironic, because as far as I was concerned Red Deer Toyota IS Toyota, so wouldn't this be their problem?).

I believe what the service manager is saying is that it's a problem with the Connected Services telemetrics system techs, Renote Connect is new for Canada in 2020 and has also been a problem for US '20 owners, but the system has been working fairly well for '19 owners. Whatever they changed for MY2020 they still don't have a handle on it for '20 owners in the US. Some '20 Canadian owners have even been referred to US customer service by Canadian customer service for help.

Same problem here. 2020 w/ tech pkg. No remote connect working. I tried to activate it only this week (had car since october). Also I can't get the weather work. Was advised to "try again later". It's been like that for about 2 weeks now, despite working for the first two months. Dealer says its should refresh every 90 mins from my phone or the radio, but other posters suggest the weather and map is downloaded from HD radio signals, which Edmonton has none...
Is your weather working?

I actually can't answer your weather question? Our RAV4 has the temperature, but I am unfamiliar with an option to actually have a weather forecast?
The weather screen is here:

Just wanted to add an update since my last post two weeks ago... NOTHING has changed. Remote Connected Servcies do not work, my dealership has passed the buck to Toyota (despite being a Toyota dealership?), and Toyota Canada has done nothing to address the issue. The "SOS Lady", who I like to contact on a weekly basis, continues to tell me to contact my dealership, who, as I have mentioned, has continued to say that this is a Toyota issue.

So my new, barely over a month old car, continues to not have one of the main features I purchased the 2020 model for!

Do we know if anyone from Toyota itself monitors these forums? I would love to get a response from someone maybe in the know that can provide any information on when this issue will be resolved.

P.S. There have been two Toyota App updates since my last post, neither of them made any difference. It is not the App!!

Have you taken any long drives say 75 miles or more away from home recently? I cannot explain it but this got my Toyota app working twice and it usually lasts a few days. It is still working since my last longish drive on Wednesday.

Haven't, and likely won't anytime soon as we typically don't take the RAV4 if we are going on a trip of any length. Not sure how that would make the problem go away, but at this point I am willing to take a drive in one direction for a couple of hours just to try and see!
Also, have you tried disconnecting the 12v battery as described here?

I haven't tried it myself because I'm afraid of losing settings etc.

The only settings that may be affected are listed in the owner's manual on reconnecting the battery, customization is not affected, see page 708 in the HV PDF manual, it shows what and how to reinitialize those.

I would suspect that was one of the strategies that the dealership's service department would have tried.

Then you have more faith in your dealer's service than I have in mine.

I did look at the list on page 708. It seems crazy that there are six steps required to initialize the power windows. And that's just the windows. There are still five other systems that I would need to reinitialize. Am I misunderstanding this?

Dunno, never had to do it myself, but plenty have disconnected the battery for various reasons and no one has complained about the initialization so far, 4th or 5th gen, several that have done the disconnect for this very purpose.
