Yep. Some go as suction cups, others as 3m adhesive on a foot. I can also tell you that the adhesive was removed without a trace when I was changing cars, and also that the regular double-sided molding / trim mounting tape works fine. I decided not to use suction cups due to a bad experience with Garmin suction mounts in the past (YMMV).
You might want to consider another thing. I actually got mine mounted UNDER the dots. On the mazda, I had to reposition the cam, as it was prone to overheating in the sun, and shutting down. If you think of your windshield being slanted at, say, 45deg, if you mount the cam just under the dots, you can get a sort of a sunshade from the dots, at least in mid-day sun direct from above. I know that in my case it solved the problem.
