Hi Guys, I am looking to buy one, maybe two 4th Gen RAV4s.

Are there any defects or systemic issues with the 4th Gens that I should watch out for?

Thank you!

I've had both a '15 Ltd and a '16 Ltd HV, liked the HV much better, all '16-'18 ride better than the '13-'15 due to the redesign, the '16s are quieter as well, the HV has more power, a full second quicker 0-60 and tows 1750lbs compared to 1500lbs for the gas model. If I were in the market for a 4th gen, it would be a late 4th gen HV.

Wife has a 2015 CRV EX-L since new and I just got a 2016 Rav4 SE with lane departure, nav, and all the safety toys.
It's much better than the Honda imho.

They are similar in a lot of ways but she's now eying a Rav4 in Limited trim to get those leather seats and all the toys.

The tech on the dash is much better than Honda. The only thing I miss is that right side blind spot camera. That was ingenious.

Thanks guys. I am looking for mechanical items, like all 2002-2006 CRV AC had black death issues. All 2017-2020 CRVs have Oil dilution issues.

I had a 2016 RAV4 LE model retired at 24k miles, and a 2018 XLE currently with 13k miles more reliable did not coming across any issues unlike my 2014 CRV much quieter too.
