Cubby holder for the small opening at the back right side next to hatch door?

One thing I miss that my previous cars had was ample storage space for stuff. Plenty of cubbies, holes, compartments, etc. Unfortunately my Rav4 Prime doesn't have a lot of this.

But, on the right side just next to the hatch opening there is a little cutaway that would be perfect for storing stuff like glass cleaner, micro fiber pads, etc. However, there is no wall or anything that would hold items in there.

I'm thinking someone must make a little cubby that fits in there perfectly and keeps items in place there. Or even a piece of plastic that one can velcro over the cubby to act as a wall.

Does anyone know if something like this exists?

Actually, my hybrid came with a plastic "wall" to keep things in place for that cubby, while some trim levels have a net across the opening. (I thought all hybrids/Primes came with that net/wall). This net/wall is mounted to the sides of the cubby with a quick release latch, thus you could replace yours with the assembly that includes the wall/net.

I didn't like the hard plastic wall retainer, so I replaced mine with the net, but that won't fit cars that don't have the receptacle for the latches.

Mine doesn't have any hooks or latches.

Also on mine the OEM cargo mat extends into it. And where it looks like there might be a light is just an empty cutout.

I don't think the part for the XLE would fit in the Prime. But if it did, it should be easy enough to swap it out.

Otherwise, I'm not really sure how to use that space to store anything without it all falling out. Maybe a small net and some heavy duty velcro to keep the net in place?

You can buy generic nets that look like the photo above that attach with screw or adhesive, hard part is just getting the right size. I saw someone with a Prime buy one from eBay or AliExpress. Another idea I saw was putting a small tension rod across, just as a basic barrier.

Having one in both our 2013 & 2021 model vehicles to be honest it's pretty much a wasted space. If I could say a 4 fit in a 4 litre jug of windshield washer fluid in it; it might be useful as is a couple cleaning rags and that's it.

My previous car had a couple of cubbies about the same size that just had small nets to stop things from falling out. I had some microfiber cloths and rags, 3M glass cleaner, bug spray, sunscreen, and a couple other odds and ends. I found it very useful.

Then inside the space where the spare tire is I had a small toolkit, a flat repair kit, and a portable jumpstarter. Apparently there's no way to open the Rav4 Prime's hatch if the battery is dead so I'll be putting the jumpstarter under one of the seats.

It's one of those self-contained rechargeable jump starters. It has a carrying case and there are no cables sticking out to get snagged by anything. Also, the passenger seat is also power-adjustable and is much more likely to be moved around than the driver's seat since I'm the only one who will drive the car.
