I just bought 2025 RAV4 with dashcam. The cam records like it should. Everytime I want to use the app I have to reconnect the camera.
Also each time I drive I have to reconnect to use the app.

What dash cam do you have? Toyota or some other, aftermarket, device?

What kind of connection method does it use between the dash cam and your phone? Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or something else.

Most cell phones can only connect one Bluetooth connection at the same time, thus if you have your phone connected to the car for hands free phone calling (and in some cases Android Auto/CarPlay), it cannot connect to another Bluetooth device. It must drop one to connect to the other. That is why I prefer WiFi connections which can connect multiple devices at the same time.
