So I was looking at my compass and noticed while the compass on the rear view mirror showed the normal cardinal directions of "NW" and "SW", the dash compass is showing what appears to be the Spanish cardinal directions "NO" and "SO". (Thanks to Ken Jennings on Twitter for pointing that out). No other displays in the vehicle are in Spanish though.

Any ideas?

You're right. I guess we'll call it a Spanglish compass. :p
I will review the language settings when I get home. This is very strange, looking for another '16+ owner to confirm.

We have the exact same problem, and it has persisted through a couple software updates the dealership has done to try to fix it. We can find no setting anywhere that has any effect (language settings, etc). I'm glad to know we aren't alone!

I speak Spanish and can confirm that definitely is how it would read in Spanish.
But Portuguese is very similar, so there's another possibility. Since I don't speak Portuguese I can't confirm if that's the case though.

But would it still be W for west? Every compass rose I can find in Spanish has an O for the West position, which is consistent with NO and SO that we're seeing....but we have a W.

You are correct. It's wrong in two languages. :serious

That's so true!
There's a W and a N, I'm guessing for West and North.
So, it's definitely a Spanglish display!

I have the same problem on a '16 SE. Anyone ever find a fix or solution for this? I was going to ask the dealer at my 20K appt, but forgot.
