Hey! Stupidly, I purchased 1999 RAV4 side mirrors in white, so that they would match the car, rather than the stock black. When they arrived. The plug that goes into the door isn't the same size as the original 1997, so the plug won't go in. I would either have to rewire the plug or just paint over the mirrors. Just letting everyone know, in case there was someone else with the same idea as me...

Can you use a hole saw, the stepped kind to open up the hole to proper size?
They look like this, in many sizes.

I don't think so, the plug fits into the hole in the door, but the male end of the plug (attached to mirrors) doesn't fit into the female end (attached to door).

I no longer ASSume anything about Toyota electrical parts compatibility! They do really wacky things! I bought a parts car with power windows/locks/mirrors to transfer those options to my all manual Rav4, just to find out that body wiring harness is different, so my Rav4 lacked ALL the related wires :(.

That too was a stupid mistake. :)
