First Hi, I am new to the forum and to Rav 4s.
I recently purchased a 2004 FWD model (125,000 mi). I put new struts and ball joints in. While doing so I noticed a leak at the driver's side drive shaft so I removed the shaft and replaced the seal. At the same time I drained, flushed and replaced the trans fluid (automatic).
Later I noticed a small puddle of trans fluid under the same point. I then bought a new drive shaft thinking the shaft might have a groove worn at the seal point. I again replaced the seal and reassembled.
There was no leak for a while until I moved the vehicle a short distance and then left it idle while I plugged a tire. It leaked about a half pint in 15 minutes. It does not leak while moving. It seems to leak only while idling after a cold start and then being moved a short distance.

Could it be leaking from a point above the seal? Pressurizing for some reason?

Are you sure the inner CV joint is fully seated into the transaxle. I had one leak once when it wasn't. Really had to slam it in there.
