Has anyone done a proper comparative study on how much the mileage difference is driving in city conditions between 3 modes?
Short answer: no difference.
Long answer: All things being equal, you can obtain the same MPG from any of the 3 modes. Primarily what the modes do is re-map the throttle system response to the pedal. (its a fly-by-wire throttle) So its more about how it feels to the driver than what actually changes. Eco mode does add some efficiency to HVAC, (and also slightly limits power output), but in normal driving there's little difference. So you can produce the same effects simply by pressing the pedal further and faster - for the most part.

Is also true that an experienced HV driver can produce higher MPG in Power mode than in Eco mode, just by driving it differently. The secret to higher MPG in the HV is how many miles are driven in EV mode, not what buttons you push.

Thanks for the response
Yep I've been getting better MPG in Sports mode coz I get to 50 quick and then coast

Well like I said, you can produce the same response just by using Eco and giving it more throttle. I like Eco mode because it gives me better throttle control. Its all about what you're used to.

My spreadsheet mpg numbers say no difference in Eco and Standard. Now, I just leave it in Standard mode.
I don't need Sport mode. I have a Polaris Slingshot that replenishes my adrenaline level when needed.
