I’ve got a 2016 rav 4 hybrid and while driving home my electrical systems just randomly restarted themselves: computer, dash, and interior lights. It was like the car turned itself off and then back on, but just the electronic bits. I still had total control of the engine, brakes, and steering. Similar threads mentioned this issue but with the engine shutting down too. Their solutions included fixing loose screws and battery issues but I’m not sure if the same thing will apply to me. Any thoughts? It’s at the dealer now. I’m out of warranty and they already want $120 to run a diag and I’m sure it will only get worse from there. Thanks in advance!

You might want to re-post this in the 4.4 forum where you could have more responses as this 4.3 forum is for '06-'12 RAV4s. Problem seems to be an intermittent electrical connection or component someplace - can be quite difficult to locate. Your dealer should apply the $120 diagnostic fee as credit towards any repair bill.

Thanks for the tip! And I’ll try posting in the 4.4 now to see if anyone else can help too.
