Greetings,

I'm new here, but I'm glad I found this place. Lots of interesting info.
However I did not find what I was looking for.
So here it goes.

I have a 2001 rav 4. (great car)
Took this car to europe (hungary)
Trying to license the car here. In this country (part of the europian union) they have some 4 different emission classes, where they can put this car in. The problem is nobody really knows what class it is. They put it in to class 3, which would be ok with me as long as they would be sure of it.
My question is: where do I go to find out that a car made in Japan for the US market, how does that compare to a car that was made for the europian market. I know that different markets require different standards from the manufacturer.

So far noone knows how to go about this. I hope you people have some ideas where to start.

Thanks in advance

Doesn't Europe drive like the French? Like LHD vehicles? All Japanese RAV4s are RHD. Not sure if they make any LHD in Japan.

Thanks for the replies.
I myself looked into it, and found the info. Our american models barely reaches the EU III standards.
So, in other words I should be happy to pay the 5000 bucks for these guys. Yes it is 5000 in case some of you are thinking if it is a typo
Thanks again for the quick responses
