My Rav4 2002 Engine fault is P1155 ie.(A/F Sensor heater Circuit Malfunction - Bank #2 Sensor #1). Can anyone direct me to which part of the engine this part can be located? And the part number of the spare part to replace it.
Regards

Hello ravvers!
I too have the P1155 error code. Has anybody been able to replace the sensor on their own? I'm desperately trying to avoid going to the stealer to get this fixed. They charge $89 for a fricking diagnosis which Autozone does for free!
Thanks in advance!

Once the heater in an O2 / AF sensor goes out, theres not really anything you can do but replace the sensor.

the AF sensor you are looking for (Bank 2, Sensor 1):
-Pop the hood and look down at the exhaust manifold (facing vehicle)
-The B2S1 sensor is the FIRST sensor you see on the exhaust, IN the exhaust manifold shield, just off of the center of the shield, towards the left.

Ill tell you all now, that if you havent look at the price of a A/F sensor, they are NOOOTTTT cheap.

Well you have to realize, we at the dealer are TRAINED to properly diag and pinpoint problems, while the guy at autozone or whatever is usually fresh out of highschool and has no clue what hes doing, other than how to plug in a code and press some buttons. what you get at a parts store is they will pull a code, and give you their best guess as to what will fix it, while i will pull a code, diag the information, and pinpoint EXACTLY what you need to fix the problem.

Im sorry, i mean no offense to you or anything, but it just irritates me to see someone that would say things like that about the dealer. you all think we are just out to get money, but you ARE getting what you paid for, and thats someone that KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING (well, usually. i cant say that for ALL dealerships) working on your car.

Hi Drifter,
Thanks for your input. I'm sorry for the 'stealer' comment. I have to say for the most part, my experiences at the dealership have been good, though at times they clearly seem to be reccomending services that seem excessive or premature.
I cant blame them. They need a certain cashflow to keep their nice facility going and its not a low budget mom and pop shop. Free wireless internet, coffee and donuts, newspapers, sony playstations for kids etc make for a nice saturday morning at the dealership!
But right now, the pain at the gaspump is kinda nagging me to make this sensor change myself.

That being said, is there a picture of the location of the B2S1 AF sensor that you can post online? I am still harboring fantasies of doing this myself.
I may eventually end up getting this done at the dealship. I certainly dont want to mess up the manifold threads etc.

Thanks!
