I know this is a bit vague, but I get warning code that essentially says the the evap pressure is wrong in the tank system. What I understand is that the system is normally a vacuum, and some sort of detection system picks up that there is a pressure leak, something about an 'evaporator'. I was told by Toyota that I was to let the fuel get down to 1/4 tank, so they could properly test it. Is it possible that simply replacing the 2007 (10 year old) gas cap or just the O-ring would fix the issue?

When they reset the warnings I had full tanks and I got no warnings, but after awhile they came back on when the fuel levels dropped. I waxed and cleaned the gas cap thinking it might seal a bit better.

My old ODB device just died and I have a new one on order so I cannot reset the warnings I get.

Replacing the gas cap is a cheap fix guess.
