I got a 2015 Rav4 2.2 d4d 50rh ani ed. Except from the thin paint and lack of light while reversing I love it.
So I bought a small 20w led light ?bar? that I can fit under the rear bumper next to the tow hitch.

But my question are.. is there anyway to connect to the reverse light without running a cable through the whole channel and into the trunk door? Since the reverse lights are in the tail door....

I would just splice into the reverse light positive and negative wire from the bulb then you won't have to run any extra wiring.

Since the tail lights seem to be sensitive to extra strain (running a separate power cable for trailer lights) I would just run a separate power wire back and hook it up to a switch in the car. Whenever you put it in reverse, flip the switch and you can see, then just turn it off. If I was doing this, I would prefer this method because of no modification to the factory wiring. Just my two cents
