When I told my brother about the RAV problem I'm having and how I wasn't sure I trusted the dealer, he asked me if a had a school baseball cap.
HUH?!?! you ask...
You see, a couple years ago I gave him a Northeastern School of Engineering baseball cap. He says he wears it anytime he has to deal with service shops because they'll think he's an engineer. In other words, he thinks it makes them more likely to be "honest" since they will automatically suspect that he knows something about cars.
I think it's all in his head. Or, should I say "on" his head!
What do you think?

Hell, try it. In the store I work out of, our warehouse guy Hank is a retired engineer. This man has an answer for everything and he's damn funny too. If all engineers are like him and think like him, there's no doubt in my mind it could work if a dealer has dealt with an engineer. I'd hate to try to sell him something, he'll run you in circles with questions and logic on anything

I find I am less likely to be ID'd when buying beer if I am wearing my college hat.
