Thanks for the write up! Just ordered a gentex auto-dim mirror on ebay for $40 shipped - no need for the compass or homelink. Hopefully i'll be able to install this weekend on my 2014 XLE.

Which is the mirror your purchased on Ebay. Do share your link. Also make sure it comes with the harness and cables.

Looks like it comes with some wiring components and taps, nothing special.

Just finished installing the mirror I ordered for $40. Install was easy. Pop off rearview mounting plate cap and push tab / slide to remove. Installed new mirror. Pulled the map light and sunroof buttons / panel. Pulled wires through headliner.

Found switched 12v and ground for the sunroof connector. Tapped the wires, tested it all and reassembled. Installed the little trim piece that came with new mirror and tightened down set screw.

12v switched was solid black (bottom left in pic below). Ground was black & white stripe wire (top right).
