What do you call the headlights that come on automatically? Safety lights?
Anyhow... suddenly, they're non-existent.
The headlights, parking lights and high-beams all still function properly...
Could this be a fuse?

Thanks in advance!

Am assuming you have the automatic headlight feature on your vehicle and now there not working..??
Do you have a dash mat..?? If so possible the sensor which is on the dash (directly in front of driver almost against front
interior glass) may be covered..? This happened to me when I got the dash mat and out went the auto headlight feature..

It is called Daylight running lights. Make sure the hand brake is released and you will see them when you start the engine.

Not to confuse you more but there is an option to have the lights come on automatically also controlled by the red light sensor on top of the dash. If it is dark outside the head lights turns on by it self. To activate this feature turn the switch to Auto setting. This is not to be confused with the Daylight running light which uses the high beam at a lower setting.

Since you have a 2008 Sport, you can ignore all the talk about automatic headlights--you don't have that. Are you sure BOTH high beams are working? If one is burnt out, it will prevent your daytime running lights (DRL) from working. If that's not the problem, then it could be a bad relay under the hood.
