Hi all - I read through almost all of the install threads on the RAV4 and I am not 100% certain on a couple of things. What's the most "fool-proof" way to tap into the sunroof motor wires? What gauge are these wires? I'm hearing T-Tap, Scotchlok, etc. What should I be looking for? Gauge and type?

And where I should look to connect the ground wire? Am I supposed to tap into the black/white wire or just bolt it in somewhere?

I assume I tap into the same wires as this guide from a 2013 model

This is how mine looks on a 2016 model. The wires are similar but I wanted to double check.

Here are the 3 wires that are coming from the mirror.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Well I bought 22-18 gauge tap splicers and it seemed to be the right size. I cut the ends of the 3 wires and spliced them into the constant, switched, and ground wires of the sunroof cable. Everything working it looks like. Fingers crossed no problems arise.

If it is working now, then you should be good to go. My 2015 RAV had no good place to put the garage door button, so the homelink mirror was a great improvement.
