Hi, I have just bought a 1994 3dr Rav4 and i can't seem to locate the "switch" on the rear door or car frame that provides indication if the door is open. I have found the side door switches (they are easy to spot) but the rear door has me stumped. If the door is not shut firmly, the inside light stays on and the indicator door ajar light is on. I'm afraid that i will inadvertently drain my battery one day soon. Thanks in advance.

Interesting! Not obvious on my 2000 4-door either. But the FSM, volume 2, provides the answer (pp. BE-22 to 24) -- it's called the "back door courtesy switch" and is inside the door. It appears to have a plunger that touches something in the handle assembly.
