I ordered a rav4 hybrid through dealer and they gave me a build date of 3/19 in Georgetown but they didn’t give me a estimated delivery week. Could someone help be figure out when the car delivery might be. By the way dealer gave me a temporary vin, is there a way I could use that to track the progress?

It depends where you live in the country. The further away you are from the factory, the longer it is going to take. Most cars are shipped by rail first, then transferred to truck for local delivery to the dealer. Also, it may take a bit longer if you ordered accessories which are not installed at the factory, but rather at the distributor.

When my RAV4 was built last July, there was a shortage of truck drivers, so that can take a bit more time too.

My RAV4 XLE Premium hybrid, Kentucky build, took about on one month from the production date until it showed up at my dealer in Utah.

Took over 30 days for our 22 HV to get from Kentucky to Upstate, NY after it was built. My rep said it was a trucking issue.

Order is placed from Tennessee state and dealer said that build date is 3/19

I guess my car will also be in the same timeline like 2 to 3 weeks after build date. When do you guys apply for finance to secure the interest rate? Should I wait until the car came to dealer shop?

My credit union allows you to pre-qualify for a loan. The interest rate is locked in for up to three months. Thus, you can submit your loan application about three months before expected delivery.

Depending on your credit rating, it can take several days for a loan to be approved, thus you don't want to wait until the car shows up at the dealer. Definitely do it well before delivery.

BTW, I got 1.99% interest, but I have seen a few better than that.

Depends on your location. Generally in my area you can lock in with a financial institution for 30 days only. Could be a NY statute. Once our 22 was on its way my rep suggested to lock in the following week to give a 10 day buffer. Ended up with 1.99% for 36m from the same Credit Union we used for our 2017. Our 2014 was the only time we have used Toyota Financial.

There is nothing wrong with going with your dealers FIN when they know the vehicle is a few days away, and you have a good relationship with them, and trust them. A good dealership FIN will help you with other banks and credit unions as well as Toyota Financial. Just make sure you know what you qualify for on your own, bring proof to show them and review the numbers to make sure the FIN person is giving you the actual rate you will have.

Its quicker, and less work for you. Just know your numbers, and make sure you have a good long standing relationship with the dealer. Despite all the horror stories out there, many honest, reputable dealers exist. I have used the same dealer and sales rep since my first RAV4 in 2006.

Enjoy your new ride. 😉

My truck was ordered on 11/24/21 ans she was built on 1/3/22 in KY. The delivery status to the dealer was all over the place but my salesman kept me in the loop (pics with dates below). It finally arrived on 2/23/22. I had issues unlocking my credit reports (damn log ins and passwords that are rarely used!) for financing and they wouldn't do the financing before hand until truck was on site so that extended my delivery time but that was good by me as she is not being driven in this crap snow we got here now saving her from a initial partial winter season of being driven. Because the dealer is 1 hour and 45 minutes away and work has me jammed up with jobs that got to be done, I'll be picking her up on 3/29/22. Everything is ready to go now and I already got Sirius/XM stuff in the mail today for her. I also got an email to download the apps to my phone for her and she was all in when I logged in. Hoping today was the last of the snow for us now. I can't wait to get her but I've waited this long, another 16 days won't kill me.
