I have a 2015 Rav4 LE AWD made in Japan. I bought it new and now have 71,000 miles on the odometer. I do my own oil and filter change every 5,000 miles or six months whichever comes first and have always used Mobil 1 0w20 full synthetic.

I've read some articles that suggest to begin using high mileage oil when a vehicle reaches 75,000 miles. The articles share how high mileage oils have additives in them that help with keeping the seals and other things in the engine in better condition as mileage increases. Does anyone use high mileage oil, and if so, when did you start using it? The high mileage oil costs a little more than the regular synthetic, but if it will protect the engine better, I will begin to use it my next oil change.
