Hello group,

The front part of the hood of my 1997 RAV4 is starting to fall apart due to rust and I will look for another one in better shape at my local body part shop.

Question is, how do you remove completely the hood of this car? I looked for videos on-line that show a step-by-step guide to do this but to no avail. I may have to buy the Haynes manual to learn how to do this myself.

If anyone here knows about on-line information on how to remove a hood please let me know.

Thanks.

Chris

Should be as simple as taking wiper spray hoses off and taking the bolts off.

As above. Mark the hinge position with a pencil and undo the 4 bolts. You could place some rags on the scuttle just in case. Easier with two people but it's not a huge bonnet.

It is an easy job with two people, just four bolts AND windshield washer hose!

I can't tell you how many times I forgot about that pesky hose, just to have to rest the hood on something so that I can disconnect the line! Do it FIRST!
