I know this topic has been covered extensively, but I have a little confusion.

I bought a 2005 Plus last week and I have just noticed a "chirp" in the dash. It seems to be behind the stereo area. Is this the same sound that the TSB mentions with the repair being felt on the defroster conduit?

From the lack of resposes, I assume that this is in fact the well documented windshield chirp. I also assume that the WD40 fix will do.

Can I get a thumbs up before this thread dies for good?

My Rav has the chirping sound too and it comes from the windshield cowl material. The rubber that contacts the bottom of the windshield will chirp when it's cold out. When it's warm outside it doesn't happen. Try putting a thin layer of grease on the rubber gasket where it contacts the windshield. Whatever material they used to make that gasket must have too much friction in the cold against the glass. Although the real problem is probably that the entire cowl is just too cheesy and shouldn't flex so much to begin with.
