I logged in yesterday after not being around a while. Yesterday, my wife signed the paperwork for her latest RAV. She's previously owned a 2008 AWD Limited (ICE), a 2013 AWD Limited (ICE) and a 2017 AWD Limited (Hybrid). These damn things keep their value so well that it we have enough positive equity built after 3 years that we're able to trade up.

The new one is Ruby Flare Pearl with Beige/Brown/Macadamia/Tan interior. Her first 2 were red and she never warmed up to the dark gray '17, but they hadn't released the Hybrid in Ruby Red until the 4.5 update. When she found that out, she couldn't wait to upgrade. The order was placed mid-August and is en route and is to be dropped off any day now.

The new one also has the advanced technology package, weather package, Entune Premium, blacked out emblems and the pano roof.

We hadn't settled on the trade in details at the time the car was ordered, so it was hanging in the balance. The dealership really needed to ink the sale in November to meet quotas, so they were very generous with the trade value PLUS a $1900 discount from MSRP.

I'll post some photos when we pick it up next weekend.

I couldn't help it but I see a pattern here

2008 -> 2013 - 5 years
2013 -> 2017 - 4 years
2017 -> 2020 - 3 years
2020 -> 2022 - 2 years?

Soon car replacements will follow the pattern of a smartphone replacements. :)

Hmm... and then a 2023? And 2 2024s. This is gonna get expensive! LOL. Thanks for pointing that out!

I'm pretty sure, based on the mileage, that she drove the '17 for 3 years, so we must have bought it in the fall of 2016.
