My 2016 Loaded Lariat cost the same or less than the 2008 truck it replaced.
My 2022 RAV4 cost considerably more than the fully loaded truck did.

One slight cause: I have the stipulating where OEM parts get replaced in the event of an accident. With limited parts availability, the cost is driven up. I also have a loan/lease protection items to pay off loan amount vs vehicle value.

Both of those added around $100 a year, so not much really. In general, yet my rates when up a lot too.

It was kinda bleh because I just got the new policy/carrier on the truck 5 months earlier at a highly reduced rate from my previous carrier (they had raised the price up enough in a few years that it was time to shop around). Then I turn around and buy a new car and have high rates again. haha

I did the math on the purchase of a new car vs my expensive truck. Originally with the insane cost of registration and the increase and insurance, it was actually going to cost about $16 more a month to drive a car than a truck. In CALIFORNIA no less.

It is free to shop around -takes very little time to get a quote to compare you new rate to that of another.
Have you declaration page available to quote the same coverage.
I assume all this would apply similarly in Canada as the States.
