I understand the instructions, but still have understanding of what light are added by the kit unless it is illumination of the floor when the doors are opened. that seems like a lot of work for two lamps. (dealer cost $185)

Do you have pics of illumination of the floor?
My '16 Hybrid doesn't have floor illumination. :(

This is one area, of just a few, that I find honestly lacking; interior lighting. I don't believe, Toyota gives this a high enough priority. Maybe it is my aging eyes, but the vehicle interior lighting, needs real improvement. I do feel they did a great job with exterior light. I keep a high lumen, LED flashlight, in the glovebox, for this very reason.

For about $20 I improved my interior with this kit. Big difference!

I am in agreement with you regarding lacking in the interior lighting part.
I've actually added LED Inner door sills, as well as LED outer door sills, and exterior puddle lights / running-board lights.
All are LEDs. I still need to run the wire harness for the interior door sill LEDs which actually have 2 lights on each of the
four door sills. My garage pics are outdated and only show the exterior puddle lights and outer door sill LEDs.
Missing pics for the inner door sill LEDS which have floor lighting.

Well I guess the light kit is the dim light on the floor from under the dash. They're so dim they don't show up in photos with my phone camera.

The posted link above for replacement LED lamps does not show a pic of that floor area. May be a just an oversight, or does not apply if you have not the light kit installed. Also, I recently replaced my Honda lamps with a similar kit. Keep in mind that "White" LED light is much BLUER than the existing lamps. Fortunately for me, My Honda was blue with blue gray interior. Blue light on other color interiors might look much more "muddy."

I just checked my window sticker. There is no mention of a light kit for my 2016 Rav4 Hybrid Limited.
Does your window sticker show the light kit included? If so, what's the price associated with that feature?
Does it fall under Standard equipment -> Interior?
Or under Optional Equipment?
Hey, so i have the lighting kit in my car.

My cars seems to have a bunch of dealer extras i did not pay for. Like window tint all around, body side molding and the lighting kit.

The kit consists of 2 LEDs on the outside under the car on both sides, so thats 4 in all.
and then there are floor well LEDs that are dim, but nice. and there there is a light string or something like that that is above the heated seat switches and stuff. it is dim also. Plus all the interior lights are also LED. Tag lights also.

But it is a nice look. Makes the Rav look like a Lexus on the inside.

Please clarify your RAV4 model. Is it a hybrid?

There are footwell lights in my 2017 Hybrid Executive.

Could you also take pics showing any exterior courtesy lights?
Here are the pics of the footwell lights on both sides.
Light is placed right behind the tire pressure warning switch at driver side.

Exterior courtesy lights ? I dont even know what it is. English is my second language.

My '98 corolla had those foot well lights, my 2016 rav4h limited does not.
Do you have any outside lights under the door sills?
