I have always carried jumper cables in my vehicle. Since 2016, I have also carried a jump-starter battery pack. The jumper cables are bulky and heavy compared to the battery pack. And I have not used either in the past five years.
Is it a good idea to "cut the cord" and jettison the jumper cables in favor of the battery pack? What are the tradeoffs?
EDIT: I may have worded my post poorly. Here is the question: If you carry a battery pack, is there still a reason to carry jumper cables?
