I bought my Rav4 last Thursday and it's a great suv. My coworker called me today and said he noticed 4 little old women who couldn't see over the steering wheel driving my car. On the ride home I counted 5 rav4 and all driven by old women. I looked on the dealer Facebook page. 4 rav4 sold in the last 2 weeks. Guess what? All little old ladies except for me. Lol. A car driven by grannies is.... well... a granny car!

I'm 72 and I see over the wheel just fine. I see mainly guys in their 30s and 40s driving the 5th gen RAVs. Rarely, I see a young woman. I've NEVER seen anyone as old as me driving one. Most of the posters in the Reddit rav4 club seem to be males.

Not really, IMO the 5th Gen is about as masculine as you can get w/ a crossover which is what Toyota was trying to achieve to attract more male buyers. Especially now that more and more sedans being replaced by crossovers and SUV and some models being discontinued you don't have very many options left. I def. notice more males driving 5th Gen compared to previous gens especially 1st and 2nd Gen.
it's only the most sold and popular SUV ...so yeah it's quite an anomaly that you see all
kinds of people all kinds of ages driving them

congrats, one of the worst 1st posts in a long time....

My wife is a granny and I replaced her 2007 limited Rav4 V6 with a 2023 Rav4 Limited hybrid because of the good experience we had with the old Rav4 and because of the safety & convenience features like back up camera, collision avoidance and the various other safety features.
Having a car that looks out for you is a good thing, especially when you are older.

We purchased our RAV4 prime on 5/1 to replace my wifes car, I think I like it more than she does. I see a fairly good mix of ages and gender in our area but I do believe that the mix does lean toward the senior ladies. I did a search looking for senior friendly vehicles and alot of the compact SUV's were on the list.

Hey thanks for the warm welcome. For most people, humor is a great introduction. I guess I have met a popular online forum adult bully. I just want you to know I submit. You are the alpha male 🤣

It does have many great features! Also a sharp looking ride. I was dreaming of one for a long time. Glad I finally pulled the trigger.

It's a great car for anyone. It's just funny to me when you really pay attention!

Good point! Maybe there is hope I didn't buy a chick car after all!

No, driving a Rav is not but getting a puppy and walking it at parks sure is !

We DO get into heated arguments on this forum -- often over trivial and silly things. It's because many of us are obsessive about our RAVs and have strong opinions and several of us (including me) are often just plain cranky. Don't take the vitriol personally--it's actually good your first post on this forum is getting attention and posts!

Ok man 🤣
The younger women are seen driving a 4 door, short bed, automatic transmission pick em up truck, hauling kids to play dates and activities. That's the current chick vehicle.
+ Lots of women are into Mustangs, Jeep Wranglers, and G-Wagons as well, doesn't make them chick cars..
I remember back in 1996 when I bought an Acura Integra that my wife would also be driving. I asked the salesman if he thought the Integra was a kind of "chick vehicle" to which he answered: "only if the color is white" !

I agree I'm also 72 and this isn't my first SUV. I had a Honda Pilot and first year Highlander Hybrid before this RAV4. I got my RAV4 in 2019 and the wife had to have one so she got her's in 2020. both are XSE. My wife can see over the wheel just fine. She is 5'10".
My first impression of the hybrid Venza was that it was a car for golfing grandmas. Especially in white pearl.

I don't really care for the 2022 hybrid Rav4 styling, whatever its gender or intended demographic, so I don't give much thought to it all in all. Given where such concerns have led us with suburban soccer dads and their desperate bid for petro-viagra pickup trucks, I figure any such discussions is going to be, well, flawed?
