I bought my Rav4 last Thursday and it's a great suv. My coworker called me today and said he noticed 4 little old women who couldn't see over the steering wheel driving my car. On the ride home I counted 5 rav4 and all driven by old women. I looked on the dealer Facebook page. 4 rav4 sold in the last 2 weeks. Guess what? All little old ladies except for me. Lol. A car driven by grannies is.... well... a granny car!

I'm 72 and I see over the wheel just fine. I see mainly guys in their 30s and 40s driving the 5th gen RAVs. Rarely, I see a young woman. I've NEVER seen anyone as old as me driving one. Most of the posters in the Reddit rav4 club seem to be males.

Hey thanks for the warm welcome. For most people, humor is a great introduction. I guess I have met a popular online forum adult bully. I just want you to know I submit. You are the alpha male 🤣
We DO get into heated arguments on this forum -- often over trivial and silly things. It's because many of us are obsessive about our RAVs and have strong opinions and several of us (including me) are often just plain cranky. Don't take the vitriol personally--it's actually good your first post on this forum is getting attention and posts!

looks great for both women and men.
I agree. The 5th gen RAV is the ONLY Rav I ever even considered buying because their body styling over the years was so bad.. The early RAVs looked like cheesy, tiny boxes--if you like square boxes the VW Rabbits and Mini Coopers had better looks. The later ones like the 4th generation were bloated, rounded, bubble butts, that only a mother could love and consider driving. They just weren't very aggressive or masculine looking in my opinion. They looked slow. The Toyota stylists got the looks nailed in the 5th gen RAV with its angular lines and sharp creases.

Suburu tends to be the car of choice for everyone who looks 70+ up here. Seems like their full time AWD caters primarily to wannabe rally racers and the elderly.
The WRX and the Crosstrek with the bigger engine are the only Subarus with any pretensions to sharp and "sporty" styling and performance characteristics that would appeal to aggressive drivers. The others look like refrigerators on wheels or station wagons from the late 1960s. Also other than the WRX there is a reason they are called by many "SLO-BARUS."

I came from a blacked out new landrover before this.
Zero issues
If you gave it several years and put a lot of miles on it, it wouldn't have zero issues. Land Rovers and Range Rovers have always been notorious for expensive problems. Things like sensors going out, and unfixable electrical gremlins. They are the nightmare of second and third owners. In the US you can't just walk into a NAPA or other parts store--most replacement parts were expensive dealer only items. Where I live I think there is only one dealer in the entire state.
