it's just another compact(ish) SUV.
I agree. The 5th gen RAV is the ONLY Rav I ever even considered buying because their body styling over the years was so bad.. The early RAVs looked like cheesy, tiny boxes--if you like square boxes the VW Rabbits and Mini Coopers had better looks. The later ones like the 4th generation were bloated, rounded, bubble butts, that only a mother could love and consider driving. They just weren't very aggressive or masculine looking in my opinion. They looked slow. The Toyota stylists got the looks nailed in the 5th gen RAV with its angular lines and sharp creases.looks great for both women and men.
I think it was the 4th gen rav v6 that was actually pretty peppy.I agree. The 5th gen RAV is the ONLY Rav I ever even considered buying because their body styling over the years was so bad.. Wife's birthday coming up shortly, perhaps a cute little puppy might be on her wish list,.........No, driving a Rav is not but getting a puppy and walking it at parks sure is !
Not sure it's the "most", but certainly the hard cut "chop" lines lean towards Japanes culture in architecture and what-not, which I believe is a masculine thing in Japan. Not really, IMO the 5th Gen is about as masculine as you can get w/ a crossover which is what Toyota was trying to achieve to attract more male buyers
The WRX and the Crosstrek with the bigger engine are the only Subarus with any pretensions to sharp and "sporty" styling and performance characteristics that would appeal to aggressive drivers. The others look like refrigerators on wheels or station wagons from the late 1960s. Also other than the WRX there is a reason they are called by many "SLO-BARUS."Suburu tends to be the car of choice for everyone who looks 70+ up here. Seems like their full time AWD caters primarily to wannabe rally racers and the elderly.
Maybe? I think you could have stopped there.Maybe it's because we get alot more snow and icy road conditions, but I've definitely noticed that Suburu tends to be the car of choice for everyone who looks 70+ up here. Seems like their full time AWD caters primarily to wannabe rally racers and the elderly.
Yeah, but now count the drivers driving a different mini suv. Ford Escape and the like.I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! My girlfriend and I started counting the number of women driving 5th gens vs the number of men here in Northeastern Tennessee. It seems pretty consistent at about 1 man for every 5 women, and most of the women seem to be little old ladies. Every modified 5th gen we've seen though has been a man.
It was the third gen that had that gem of a 2GR-FE motor that made 269 HP. We had one and would still be happily driving it except it got totaled in a crash 17 months ago.I think it was the 4th gen rav v6 that was actually pretty peppy.
Absolutely. I only moved to Northeast TN about a year ago from Las Vegas. In Vegas I felt like the distribution was much closer, maybe 2 women for every 1 man driving a 5th gen. I wasn't explicitly counting back then so I'm really just going off a gut feeling of what I recall. This is why I included location in my comment though.I suspect there's way too many factors to drum up an understandable distribution. As example, one brand may be preferable over another, prices, regions of the country, etc.
In TN maybe it's 1:5, but perhaps in FL it's 5:1 ?
ah, there you go. and yes, it does take some getting used to.It was the third gen that had that gem of a 2GR-FE motor that made 269 HP. We had one and would still be happily driving it except it got totaled in a crash 17 months ago.
My wife complains that our new 4.5 Rav4 hybrid is much harder to see out of to drive. Compared to our 4.3 which she loved, she says the 4.5 has a much higher hood and feels a few inches wider. I think she's right on both counts.
