Hello everyone! I am usually part of the group for the first generation owners so this is the first time that i am on this part of the forum.

I am looking to find a v6 rav4 for a decent price. I want it to be AWD. Other than that, I really do not care about other specifications.

Ever since I got my 2000, I have been so interested in one day upgrading to the third generation. I just cannot seem to find anything in my area for a respectable price. Am I not looking in the right places?

Any information would help.

Cheers!

The V6 model is definitely harder to find due to the fact fewer were sold and demand is high. I have no problem finding one where I live but smaller cities are a challenge. Try looking for one much further away than where you are looking. If you can't find one and there does not seem to be any then find another model such as the Lexus RX350. It has the same V6 engine and slightly more cargo space. The quality and ride is far superior also. Prices might be slightly higher but look at 2008 to 2012 models which maybe close to the RAV4 V6 price range.

We just traded ours in for a Prime. It was a 2006 LE with 220K miles. After a lot of checking on trade in prices, the dealer offer of $2500 was reasonable.

It is more convenient to trade it but if you have the patience a private sale can yield more than double what the dealer will pay.

I know - we sold most of our previous cars privately, but we just don't have time for that these days. The car was in great shape, BUT the transmission hesitated, following by a small jerking feeling. sometimes, so we were concerned about a pending transmission failure.
