It finally happened! Should I fix it? I've been thinking to fix the dent, but I know this will keep happening.

Does anyone know about how much to fix it?

I say fix it. But I'm anal  Check with the dealer or you might be able to use the dentless repair people. I think it runs about $50 or so...

Ouuuuuchhh! That's a little more dent-like than the dings I'm used to seeing... Like the other guys said, it can probably be easily repaired by a dentless repair shop -- probably not too hard to get to since it's in a door panel.

Looks like the offender left some paint scrape -- hopefully your finish isn't too badly damaged...

Good luck!

Ouch! - Paintless repair biz shouldn't have any problem with your recent hit, as long as the paint is still intact and not broken. It's in a good spot, too - away from any seam or contour line. Around here it would cost about $60-$70 to get it fixed in about 10 minutes. A good ding-man can work wonders with his set of variable length touch bars!

:( I am quite sure when this happens to my new Rav4 I am gonna cry.. I am so not looking forward to it..

This is the only reason I am looking into the semi-ugly side moldings.. But I really wonder how much ding they prevent..

Ugh.. heh.. I am torn..

Good luck with that ding.. Let us know how it turns out and how much it runs you...

Best thing is....if you have to park next to another car, make sure it's not a 2-door model.
Those doors are always longer and more prone to inflict DAMAGE!!!

I guess I have one question:

Did the person that did this to your RAV still alive?

Well, it happened on my weekly gorcery shopping day and the store just opened, so not too many cars in the parking. When I parked my rav, there were no car next to me on both side. I found the dent after shopping and there were still no car parking next to me.

That guy must know hitting my car and park somewhere else.

I am still calling around for pricing. I call couple shops and they said that's "sharp dent" and it would take more time to fix.

I brought my rav to a body shop which was referred by my dealer. They quoted me ~$400 and they needed to paint the door. Paint :?: :?: :?: Thank but no thank.

So I called few dent specialists and had some quotes. Most of them are in mobile, so they can come over to do the fix in my garage. They all say "no paint" as long as the scratch didn't get to primer. But they all said the cost starting at $150 when they hear the dent is on door panel. They explained bigger dent is cheaper to fix and if the dent is just on bumper or trunk area that would be cheap to fix too.

I finally called the shop that my friends referred to. The shop is actually detailing store. They offered me the same price to fix the dent plus doing polish and washing the car for free. I made an appointment this Saturday.

Hope this will be a good weekend.
