Hello everyone. I've been on a few threads to see how to change the ignition lock cylinder. And all the things that I've been reading say you have to have a key to change it. But I lost mine.... LOL. Any tips on how to change it without having the key?

Have you tried contacting some of the local locksmiths?
Cutting a key for an existing lock is a basic part of locksmith training and these older Rav4s use a plain metal key.

If this is not practical in your location, there are other ways, but they could get messy.
I would start with the easy way.

A friend of mine has a Toyota that will start with any Toyota key.
Sometime a borrowed key can get the cylinder out for replacement.

Good Luck.

And if not a locksmith, then your local Toyota dealer$hip can make a key. Take your RAV4's title and ID with you to either; they'll need the VIN and proof of ownership.

If you are lucky enough to have the original key tag (often yellow) from the dealer, that often has useful info on it too for this purpose, depending on the make/model/year.
