I'm trying to set up the message feature on my 2017 RAV4. It tells me that I need to link my device (which I have already done. I can get phone calls through my bluetooth in the car, but I can't get text messages like I could on my 2014. Has anyone else had this issue?

Depending on your phone, you have to approve the Head Unit's access to your messages.

Unpair and repair the phone and watch for messages on the phone requesting access to your message and contacts.

I'm glad it worked.

It's the equivalent of, "Did you try turning it off and back on again?"
