Mice have broken a small foam (?) piece on the cabin air filter housing of my 3rd gen RAV4. (See below photo.) Would it cause any problems if I cover this with duck tape? I'm concerned it's something like the recirc air intake and don't want to block off something important, but also hope to avoid more mouse damage.

(For what it's worth... I have a Mouse Blocker under the hood, at least 1/4 jar of Cayenne pepper sprinkled throughout the engine compartment, a Glaobule strobe light-ultrasound mouse repeller in the cabin, and about a dozen mouse traps in the garage. But I'm still losing the "war on mice"!)

It should be ok to cover it with duct tape I see no reason it would any harm. I would also lay fabric softer sheets near and around the cabin filter. Mice hate fabric softener.
