I was having trouble finding the Mobil-1 0W16, but i ordered some from walmart.com and it was 24.00 or so for 5 quarts, i ordered 2 and free shipping. 3 hours later it came to the house, i got tired of calling stores and visiting auto parts stores, so just letting ya know,
10,000 mile or once a year formula, not sure ya want to go 10,000 or not.

There is a rebate offer on Mobil-1 but walmart is not on the list like usual, i will call them tomorrow.
If this is the wrong place to post let me know and i can delete or admin can move it.

Anyone change your own oil as yet, do we need a new plug gasket or crush washer...?

I will pick some up,
I got some blue vinyl ones for my Mazda 2008 MX-5 at Oreilly's so far never one drop. It had a Solid Aluminum gasket when i go it not a crush washer.

I called Mobil-1 while ago, Walmart is on the list of rebate eligible Company's
8.00 for 5 quarts and 2 allowed per house hold, 16.00 makes it about 17.00 for 5 Quarts.
Mobil 1™ Rebate login (mobilpromotions.us)

So are you guys doing once a year, or 10,000 miles or 5,000 or...? we are just now out of Free Dealer Oil Changes, the next one is on me, have to decide a schedule to do it.

Is there just the one shield that is in the way of the Drain n Filter...?

Once a month Canadian Tire has the 5qt of Mobil1 for $19.99 cnd.
Last year their was a mail in rebate of $10.00 per 5qt so after mail in rebate it was $9.99
I bought 10 of them so I'm good for a long time
You must have a lot of relitives to send the rebates too, they only allow 2 per household...Good price...
the 24.00 is the cheapest i have seen it here, and the rebate brings it down, in fact no one had any. so i was glad to get 2.

I personally do it every 5k for my driving conditions. Unless the vast majority of your mileage is on the highway, I personally wouldn’t go 10k intervals on shear-prone oil. Especially with fuel dilution and condensation buildup from shorter trips. If you operate in a high temp environment, or operate under high load, I also wouldn’t stretch intervals unnecessarily. Oil is cheap and it’s very simple to change on these vehicles.
That is what im leaning to, but i wanted some input from others, it is also what i do on my MX-5 even though Blackstone.com told me my package at 5000 miles was still in good shape.
Thanx.

Wally World is on the drop down list of retailers if you submit your mobil1 rebate online. I am getting 8 bucks back for a 5 quart jug. I need to order another before the rebate is over. I do the mobil1 rebate every year. Its the only one I do because its so easy and you always get your money.

I also change my oil every 5K or every 6 months whichever is less. Oil is cheap.
Just submitted mine for 16.00 was hoping for 20.00 but that is the 20,000 mile oil... :eek:o_O

What Filter are we using, i found the M-1 103 at walmart for around 10.00, cheapest i found.
Wix is cheaper, the XP is about the same as the Mobil-1....

By the way, i recieved the acceptance of my Mobil-1 rebate today as well, i called to verify that it was for 2, total of 16.00

I got tired of Calling around everywhere, so i figured i would let Walmart try to find some for me, shoot 3 hours later it was at my door...
I figured it would be a nationwide search, Some must have came in...

I have a Mazda MX-5 2008, The Wix filter is what most of us use, or in my case the Mobil-1 Filter.
I called Mobil-1 and they answered as Wix...at least that is the number that Mobil gave me.
