I mounted a class III hitch from Draw-Tite and it looks pretty good from the rear. I have a rear pic of the vehicle posted on my album. If it does not show the fidelity you want send me your email and I'll send you a clearer picture. BTW I topped that hitch with a chrome half moon Bully Bar which looks sweet.
...pretty sure it's a Reese. I just took the stickers off it and you can hardly tell it's there. Having said that, it's only four bolts to hold it on if you'd prefer to only install it when needed. Putting it on or taking it off is only a 5 minute job.
As the RAV4 does not have rear bumper, it is more susceptible to damage from a rear-end colision. A trailer hitch along with the rear door-mounted spare tire acts as the rear bumper and helps reduce rear-end damage. I keep my trailer hitch on at all times. Having it on (and visible) may also keep some idiots from following too close.
I have the 2.4L 2AZFE engine. It has been damaged beyond repair so I need another engine. The salvage yards say that several engines will fit including scion. They all want to know the fifth didget of the I.D number. Mine is a "D". anybody know why this is a big question.?
This post is a place saver for a detailed build thread with pictures of my Rav4 lifted on Old Man Emu Springs and the 30mm Tema 4x4 lift kit.
The attached picture is with 235/60/16 tires.
Many more details to come.
Well, look at what i've found:
Didn't realize that these cars came with what looks like OEM HID's but also headlight levelling. You can see the ballast at the bottom of the headlight.
Anybody have any experience finding a set of these from Japan? they're awfully expensive from what i've read...
I’m hoping to do some modifications. I’m hoping to get the best bang for my buck, so I’m trying to decide whether I should do a 3SGTE swap, supercharge the stock 2AZ or turbocharge the stock 2AZ. What does everyone think?
