I recently purchased a 2010 Rav4 with the 2.5 , got it for a steal but it does need some work. it has 177k miles as of right now. it started one day to not get up to speed and the check engine light would flash and so would the slip light. it goes away once you ease off the gas. They did stay on for once got it scanned. and got back with 4 trouble codes. I Also recently got my valve cover gasket changed.

P0303 - cylinder 3 misfire

And then in ABS/VSC/TRAC

C1201 - engine control system malfunction
C1241 - Low or high power supply voltage
C1406 - open or short in front speed sensor LH circuit

Now i did clean the ABS sensor with break cleaner it went away for a day or two, codes came back. Then i cleaned the battery post and ground and as of right now the codes re appear but do not stay on. I have a couple of theories

1. faulty ABS sensor
2. my battery may be going bad i have to test it.
3. cv axle is a bit loose and boot is broken, cleaned alot of grease off
4. wheel bearing is going bad.

Has anyone experienced this issue with these specific codes going on ? I am not too worried about the misfire, would rather figure out the ABS as it does not let me drive the car, it shakes alot when the codes show up. Any insight is welcome.

Welcome to the forum, and well done on your Rav.

I would deal with the cylinder 3 misfire first - you may be dumping unburnt fuel in to the Cat, which could damage it. As it is one cylinder only, check the coil for any signs of damage, and also the harness and the connector. Then play swaps with the coil, then the spark plug and see if the misfire moves when one part moves - at least that will give direction.

The lights may come on if the ECU detects an engine fault - a sort of fail safe mode if you like. They may go away when the misfire is sorted.

I would have the battery and alternator properly tested to see if anything is not up to spec. Our Ravs can be a little fussy if the battery and circuit is not 100%, You could look at the terminals and the main lead from the alternator to the battery and look for poor conditions/damage. Replace and re do the terminals as necessary.

After the above check again and let us know what you have

Got ya, yeah I'm checking the coils and sparkplugs tomorrow. Thank you for the insight on how to check it. So the issue im having with the ABS could just be because of the battery not being up to par ?
